OCRIS Custom Validation
Newly added in version 2.2.2.7, the Custom Validation feature allows comprehensive Worksheet data validation to be added to your OCRIS installation, providing the ability to define contextual/logical checking of data within Worksheets and across multiple Worksheets. This extra validation can be run as a standalone exercise and/or as part of the OXO export procedure to provide even greater control over data quality.
For example, custom validation allows you to check for such things as:
- overlapping or missing intervals
- invalid Dip/Azimuth/Grid values
- end-depth checking
- Invalid Sample Types or Groups
- 'contextual' or 'logical' checking across data columns
- and more...
Custom Validation procedures will be developed by Expedio to your specific requirements on a fixed, low 'per validation' fee, and will then be saved to your OCRIS configuration and database.
Once installed into your configuration, the custom validation will be executed prior to any export to .oxo file (in addition to the standard validation checks). Users will then be presented with a list of errors or warnings if applicable, and will be able to correct the data before export will proceed. We are also able to define 'warning' type conditions that the user can choose to accept and continue with the export process should that be required.
It is also possible to perform the Custom Validation steps on their own (i.e. not as part of an .oxo export) if you just wish to verify the data quality.
